San Diego Food Bank Moves to North County

The San Diego Food Bank recently moved into its new North County facility in Vista, expanding its ability to feed the 450,000 people in San Diego County who have little or no food at home.

CEO James Floros showed me how he uses perfectly good food grocery stores won’t sell because the cans are dented, the vegetables are too big or too small for their bundles, or they’re just oddly shaped.

There are so many more innovative ideas being implemented that I am very happy to provide the food bank with a grant to help buy a desperately needed new refrigeration system. Surprising fact, 39,000 of our local military rely on the food bank for help!
