White House Invitation

It's a phone call I will never forget. An invitation to the White House to meet with the President of the United States. As a County Supervisor this was an incredible opportunity to step up and strategize with the President and other state leaders about important issues in San Diego County and California. I was incredibly honored to be one of 15 elected officials chosen for this meeting.

Fighting Against Proposed Water Tax

The cost of living in California is already high enough. San Diegans don’t need another tax. I was in good company during a news conference with other city and county leaders as we made clear we will not stand for a tax on a basic necessity like water. No to SB 623.

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

I met some wonderful people at the Memorial Day ceremony hosted by the Encinitas American Legion Post 416. I also reunited with my young friend, Avila Colanter, who I see every year at this event. Together, we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we enjoy today.

Save the Date!

I hope you can join me Sunday, June 10th at Second Chance Beer for an afternoon of conversation and craft beer. I will be taking your questions and answering them in a casual setting in an effort to get a pulse on issues that are important to you. You must RSVP and seating is limited.

A Mother's Love is Everything

Mother's Day doesn't need a special day on the calendar because every day is Mother's Day. But it is an opportunity to make time for those closest to our heart. I relished every moment of this Mother's Day as I was surrounded with my three children and my mother. Precious moments I recognize should never be taken for granted. I hope you made some wonderful new memories too.
