National Association of Counties

The month of July had me attending my first National Association of Counties annual conference. My fellow Supervisors and I visited Columbus, Ohio where we met other leaders from around the country. It was wonderful hearing about the innovative programs and ideas they are incorporating in their communities. Congratulations to Supervisor Greg Cox who was appointed First Vice President of NACo!

AB 1250 - Restricting the County

I had the pleasure of being a guest reader at the San Diego County Library's "Story Time". The Del Mar staff asked about my favorite children's books and had me read them to the kids who attend the weekly sessions. They were all on their best behavior but it wasn’t easy getting a group photo.

Visit North San Diego

The North San Diego Business Chamber wants you to see and experience all of the gems the northern part of the County has to offer. The Chamber recently launched VisitNorthSanDiego.com, a comprehensive directory for hotels, restaurants, breweries and attractions.  What's unique about the website is that it breaks everything down into 8 specific categories like "Adventure", "Romance", and "Family Fun". Check it out! http://bit.ly/2v7aF3j

Radio Rounds

One of the issues I promised to tackle during my campaign is the growing number of homeless around the county. In the last few weeks I made the rounds on KFMB 760 AM, speaking with hosts Mark Larson, Mike Slater and Brett Winterble about some of the models that have shown tremendous success in turning lives around. If you missed them, click here to listen to the clips. http://bit.ly/2u9xZuL  http://bit.ly/2us4dEh   http://bit.ly/2sSc48V
